Le pilote de la semaine : FRANCOIS CHATRIOT né le 1
janvier 1952 à PARIS.
S’il est bien un pilote employé au coup par coup en
Mondial, c’est bien françois CHATRIOT dit « LE
CHAT » ou le DOCTEUR° En effet,
il sera souvent un bouche-trou en Mondial,
et ses très bons résultats ne lui permettront pas de trouver un
volant fiable, à la hauteur de son talent. Ses débuts datent de 1974.
Est-ce le fait de « copiloter » Mr RAGNOTTI
en Buggy qui lui a transmis le virus de la compétition. Bref, ses débuts seront
remarqués en Tout-terrain. Puis vint la période «rallye » . c’est en championnat de France qu’il excelle (1°
victoire sur terre de PROVENCEavec la 5 TURBO en
82). Battu de justesse pour le titre
par Didier AURIOL et la METRO, Renault lui fit toutefois ;confiance en Mondial avec la RENAULT 11 TURBO en 87
accompagné de son ami de toujours Jeannot. Il se rattrapera par 2 titres de champion
de France en 89 et 90 . Très bon metteur eu point, il a une très bonne
expérience du circuit, du trophée ANDROS et de CHAMONIX qu’il
remporte en 95. Par la suite, il travaillera pour PEUGEOT et CITROEN comme responsable sportif.
ANECDOTE : En 74, il sera copilote de luxe pour
notre Jeannot National. Au rallye « tout terrain » PLAINE ET
VALLEES, avec un BUGSTER de sa fabrication, le tandem sera leader jusqu’à
ce qu’un arbre eut la mauvaise idée
de traverser la route. Le véhicule, raccourci d’1 mètre, termina malgré tout à une honorable 4°
place au général.
21 résultats en MONDIAL, 21 points (basé sur le calcul
des années 80, pourcentage de podiums : 19.80%...
138°(/4155) pilote de tous les
temps (27° France, juste devant LOUBET), surface préférée asphalte même s’il
a débuté sur la terre. rally préféré : le
TOUR DE CORSE( 2° en 1989 et meilleur performer avec
la BMW M3) (rally- : la SUEDE). Copilote
favori :PERIN. FIABILITE : 4 étoiles (du
top !!!)

Driver of the week: FRANCOIS
CHATRIOT born on January
1, 1952 in PARIS.
If there is
one driver who is used on a case-by-case basis in the World Championship, it is François CHATRIOT, known
as "THE CAT" or the DOCTOR. Indeed, he will often
be a stopgap in the
World Championship, and his
very good results will not allow him to find a reliable steering wheel, up to his talent. His debut dates back to 1974.
Was it the fact of "co-driving"
Mr RAGNOTTI in a Buggy that
gave him the competition
bug? In short, his debut
will be noticed in Off-road. Then
came the "rally" period.
It is in the French championship
that he excels (1st victory on
PROVENCE dirt with the
5 TURBO in 82). Narrowly
beaten for the title by
Didier AURIOL and the METRO, Renault nevertheless
trusted him in the
World Cup with the
RENAULT 11 TURBO in 87 accompanied
by his lifelong friend Jeannot. He made up for it
with 2 French champion titles
in 89 and 90. A very
good setter, he has very
good experience of the circuit, the ANDROS trophy and CHAMONIX which he won in 95. Subsequently, he worked for PEUGEOT and CITROEN as sports manager.
ANECDOTE: In 74, he was a luxury co-driver for our National
Jeannot. In the PLAINE ET VALLEES “all-terrain” rally,
with a BUGSTER of his own making, the tandem was the leader until a tree had the bad idea of crossing the road. The vehicle,
shortened by 1 meter, nevertheless finished in an
honorable 4th place overall. 21 results in WORLD, 21 points (based
on the calculation of the 80s, podium percentage: 19.80%...
138th (/4155) driver of all time (27th France, just ahead of LOUBET),
favorite surface asphalt even
if he started on dirt. Favorite rally: TOUR DE
CORSE (2nd in 1989 and best performer with the BMW M3) (rally-:
SWEDEN). Favorite co-driver: PERIN. RELIABILITY: 4 stars (top !!!)
